What Are Cams & Cam Bolts?
Furniture cam lock systems are used to connect two vertical panels in panel furniture.In wood joinery, cam lock nuts and special lock screws and connecting bolts are alternatives to traditional wood and adhesive joints. They’re often used with prefabricated fiberboard and wood furniture pieces, which are commonly known as “ready-to-assemble,” “knock-down” and “flat-pack” kits.
The Benefits Of Using Furniture Cam Lock Systems:
Reduce the use of adhesives, environmentally friendly. Invisible. The cam lock nuts are not visible from the outer surface. Furniture using cam lock nuts can be disassembled and assembled many times. No need for special tools for assembly. You only need a soft-head mallet and a cross-head screwdriver. Creating a solid joint with a cam lock nut and screw/bolt requires little physical effort.How To Install:
1. Place Cam into hole with facing as shown below
2. Side view
3. Screw in Cam Bolts as shownbelow
4.Push in the Dowel with fingers as shown below and then lightly tap with hammer to make sure it is heldfirmly
6. Make sure grooves are fitted properly as shownbelow
8. A screw driver is then needed to tighten the Cams by turning the cam in a clockwise direction as showbelow
